associate shooter details and alll the things
This is amazing, and I'm so happy and honored that you've landed on this page—I know every photographer says that, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
I'm looking to bring on 3-4 bad ass associate shooters who embody kindness, passion for photographing weddings and who appreciate the genuine connection with couples that working in weddings is all about. It's about surrounding yourself with like-minded people who view this profession as more than just a paycheck. A lifestyle blended with professionalism—the kind that gets you out of bed at 5am to be hyped on shooting at your favorite venue, or extending a session free of charge because you know the lighting is getting good and you're totally vibing with your couple.
The perfect fit is someone who has a good attitude + energy about them, goes with the flow, is receptive to taking direction, is eager to learn and grow but also brings in their own "spice" to the mix. You must be comfortable enough to lead the day on your own, follow a timeline, give subtle direction and guidance for posing and, most importantly, is just happy to be there and take it all in.
This role is not for the people who want to just get paid and get out who view it as quick money. And this is why I'm planning to pay premium rates for associate shooting because I want you to feel honored, seen, and respected with what you do in your craft that aligns with your why to working in the industry. (Plus, our clients are usually just as bad ass so it's always a pleasure working with them!)
My intention for shooting weddings is to always approach them in a relaxing and happy energy. There's so much planning that goes into the day, but sometimes you just have to let the moments unfold as they naturally do. I want for you to go into it with the same energy. Of course there are stressful moments, but I will help guide and mentor you to make those moments feel so much more relaxed and help keep the client in that same headspace too. I am not someone to give a list of poses or prompts for you to capture, meaning there is a lot of trust in the creative process here with freedom to do and be you exactly as you are.
Some expectations for associate shooting will include shadowing me at one or more weddings prior to shooting your own (really until you feel comfy and confident!), one or more mentorship calls, a signed contract for all gigs that outline clear terms, and anything else that unfolds naturally throughout this process.
Sound like you? Hell yeah. Fill out the form below so I can pair you with weddings that best represent what you're looking to do. Be as honest as possible. There is no right or wrong answer. Be YOU!
I can't wait to mentor, learn from you, learn with you, and do all the things. :)
